Hello my friend! April was such a full month but I don’t feel like I have time to properly write about it—my internship at Women’s Studio Workshop came to an end two weeks ago, and I’m currently packing up my life for another internship at Touchstone Center for Craft starting next week (when she heard where I was going next, one of the WSW founders jokingly asked if I was a “professional intern” now—maybe so!)
I loved my time at WSW and it was hard to say goodbye to everyone there. I felt rooted there in a way I haven’t felt in other places I’ve worked at and I hope I’ll make my way back someday. In the meantime, I am holding onto memories of Atwood porch hangs, going down rabbit holes of printing, and potluck lunches in the sun. I have a hand-burned CD of “Bruce Springsteen rarities” to listen to on the road and plant friends to keep on a new windowsill.
from my last bike ride and last view from the trestle. I love seeing the white sycamores and green conifers peeking out in between the grey and brown.
last print at WSW with some favorite dingbats from the letterpress studio.
my cozy bedroom at Atwood <3 full of art by friends that I carry with me from place to place always
And now here’s some stuff I’ve been up to the last two weeks! I need to get back to packing so I will leave you to peruse the highlights of my camera roll. I hope you have a happy start to May and I will see you again here soon!
Shae Bishop came to my college to give a talk and demo! it was so sweet to see him again and hear him speak about his work—and can you believe this fish is slipcast with a 2 part mold?!
visited my friend Ellie in upstate NY and she took me to the carousel where I got to ride on a loon (!!!)
there was also this lovely fish friend <3
flew down to GA to see my friend Kai <3 please note our matching overalls we were very happy with that
the one touristy picture I took in GA was of a….. drain hole cover.
Kai and I made some recipes from my 2-disc collector's edition copy of Big Eden (2000) (our favorite movie!) we made the scallops and the truffles but... there is no photographic evidence of the Great Truffle Disaster
pulled some cards from my favorite deck made by my friend Ethan to guide me over the next couple months in a new home
